Gy. Molnár István

(1933-2010)

Painter, graphic artist. Studied at the Budapest Academy of Fine Arts. His masters: Aurél Bernáth, Gyula Papp, Béla Bán, Géza Fónyi. He was a member of the board of the Young Artists Studio Association. Member of the Szinyei Society. Since 1970 he has lived in the new Szentendre artist colony. He has worked several times in the Villány and Nagyatád artist colonies. He started as a painter, but began to deal with graphics in the early 1960s. He began painting again in the mid-1960s. He has been an exhibiting artist since 1960. He has presented his works at numerous domestic and international exhibitions. He had a solo exhibition in the Szentendre Art Gallery in 1993. He participated in group exhibitions, among others

at the Ernst Museum (1963), the Hungarian National Gallery (1968, 1971, 1972, 1976,

1979, 1991), the Műcsarnok (1971, 1988), the Szentendre Exhibitions (Szentendre Picture Gallery,

since 1979). His works can be found in public collections, among others

at the Hungarian National Gallery and the Ferenczy Museum in Szentendre.
